Celebrate the Spirit of Christmas

SAN JOSE, CA (October 30, 2020) Winchester Mystery House announced today an all new Victorian Candlelight Tour starting Friday the 13 th . Guests will learn why for Victorians, Christmas Eve was the darkest, spookiest evening of the year. The 160 room mansion will be adorned with traditional holiday decorations, sparkling trees and spirits for both a daytime mansion tour and the evening tour. The Victorian Candlelight Tours will be offered on select nights in November & December. Tickets for timed-entry admission, allowing for social distancing, are available now at winchestermysteryhouse.com.

“Many people don’t realize that during Sarah Winchester’s lifetime, the spookiest day of the year was actually Christmas Eve. Families and neighbors would gather around the fire in shadow filled story circles to hear tales of specters and the supernatural.  Charles Dickens made the Christmas ghost story famous – and it seems fitting that Winchester Mystery House be the one to restart this Victorian tradition,” said Walter Magnuson, Winchester Mystery House General Manager. “The Victorian Candlelight Tour will feature some of our most chilling ghost stories told as you explore the most active parts of the Mansion, including the basement, which has been off limits for quite some time now.”

Guests can also enjoy a more traditional holiday themed tour of the mansion during the day. Self guided mansion and garden tours will be available throughout the months of November & December, making it a must do this holiday season. Guests interested in exploring from the home can also purchase the 360 Immersive Tour for $8.99 and the video tour for rent for $5.99 or to purchase for $13.99 online at winchestermysteryhouse.com/video-tour/.
