No bikes, skateboards, weapons of any kind, or dangerous or illegal substances are permitted on the Winchester Mystery House (“WMH”) grounds. Concealed firearms are not permitted (even if you have a concealed carry permit) on the grounds except to the extent carried by WMH security or authorized law enforcement personnel. The “grounds” include the mansion, surrounding property, and parking areas.
Persons with bags or objects or substances considered inappropriate by WMH staff may be denied entry or removed from the grounds. Failure to follow WMH staff instructions may also be grounds for removal.
Smoking of any kind, including vapor and e-cigarettes, is not permitted anywhere on the grounds.
Only ticketed guests are allowed entry to areas requiring ticket access.
Children should be supervised at all times by a parent or legal guardian.
WMH may require additional security screening of guests/belongings at any time. Large bags/backpacks over a certain size may be prohibited.
Attire:
Shoes must be worn at all times.
Persons on the grounds must be fully clothed; excessive skin exposure may be deemed inappropriate for a family environment and cause for removal.
Clothing and tattoos must not contain obscene, profane, racist, sexual, or objectionable words or imagery.
Accessibility:
Strollers and wheelchairs can only be accommodated on the grounds.
The mansion itself does not accommodate strollers or wheelchairs. Please see a host for our accessible tour for guests with mobility difficulties.
Photography by you:
Personal photography is allowed inside the mansion and on the grounds for personal enjoyment only unless otherwise indicated (certain events and tours may not permit photography). Limit images of persons photographed to those in your party.
Tripods are not allowed; flash photography is limited to outdoor spaces only.
No video recording is permitted in the mansion.
Taking photos or videos in bathrooms is strictly prohibited to preserve privacy.
Photography by us:
By entering the grounds, you consent to be filmed or photographed for WMH’s and its designees’ promotional purposes on behalf of your self and any dependents for whom you are the parent or legal guardian. If you do not wish for yourself or them to be included, please inform a staff member upon arrival.
Prohibited Activities:
No soliciting of any kind is permitted.
No commercial photography or video recording is permitted without express prior approval.
Bullying and harassment are not permitted. These include any physical act, threatening communication,, pattern of gestures or communications, or possession of a weapon, facsimile of a weapon, dangerous instrument or substance or other object that create fear of actual or reasonable harm to persons or property.
No illegal activities are permitted on the grounds.
Pet Policy:
Pets are not permitted on the grounds or in the mansion. Service animals (as described here: https://www.ada.gov/topics/service-animals/) are permitted but must remain on a leash and under the control of their person at all times.
Reserved Rights:
WMH will interpret this code in the event of any questions and reserves the right to deny entry to any person at any time. Violations of this code may result in removal from the property, referral to law enforcement, and other legal actions.
